If you request backing, without the installation of a fly line, we will install the recommended amount of backing to ensure adequate room for almost any size fly line. For typical species targeted with this reel, we recommend 60# 16 Strand Hollow Ace, 65# 12 Strand SA UHMW, or 68# 8 Strand Hatch for maximum line capacity.
